Van Aelst I Nguyen & Partners (VA.NG) is an international architecture and façade engineering design firm founded in 2015 by Steve Van Aelst and Tony Nguyen. It is our purpose creating meaningful and exhilarating places shaping our future cities enriching people with captivating memories. With offices in Antwerp (Belgium) and Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi (Vietnam), VA-NG boasts a team of experts with extensive experience in designing cutting-edge projects around the world. 

As a Director Architecture you will be based in our Antwerp office part of a family of 25 creative minds working on various national and international Projects. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

• Creates and develops good concept design to the parameters agreed with client. 
• Providing high quality design presentations 
• Manage team from 5-10 People 
• Preparing comprehensive drawing sets from concept through construction documents 
• Providing solid Technical Design solutions 
• Implementation of code compliant design and standards 
• Proposal relevant Sustainable Design Solution 
• Good communication and coordination skills with consultants, contractors, clients, regulatory agencies to meet overall project objectives. 
• Prepare deliverables produced in accordance with VA.NG standards 
• Financial Responsibility of projects 
• Support on design fee proposals 
• Support on recruitment of new team members 
• Leadership, demonstrating quality moving the project forward smoothly and effortlessly. 
• Support on company representation and activities promoting VA.NG brand and outreach. 

Essential skills: 

• Excellent Communication skills in English and Dutch, both spoken and written 
• Excellent ability in Revit, Adobe Suite; SketchUp and Corona/Lumion is a plus  
• Being able to work under pressure and meeting tight deadlines 
• Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to take initiative  
• A team player, with a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and collaborating in an international context 

Experience and qualifications: 

• Belgian Professional qualification as an Architect or an equivalent overseas qualification 
• 15+ years of professional experience in all phases of the design process: conceptual, detail and design development, construction documents, and construction administration with site supervision 
• Experience on built and published large scale references
