UNIS HANOI SPORTS AND AQUATIC CENTRE RECEIVING WA AWARD!
World Architecture Award | UNIS Hanoi Sports & Aquatic Centre
The World Architecture Awards (WA Awards) honour outstanding architectural works from around the globe, recognising projects that demonstrate innovation, functionality, and a meaningful contribution to the built environment. The awards bring together international voices in architecture, highlighting projects that set new standards in design excellence and sustainability.
We are honoured to announce that the UNIS Hanoi Sports And Aquatic Centre has received a World Architecture Award, recognising the project as a benchmark for contemporary educational and civic design.
As the first step in the wider campus renovation, the Sports & Aquatic Centre reflects our commitment to architecture that is functional, sustainable, and inspiring. It balances technical performance with a strong sense of identity, offering spaces that promote health, well-being, and school spirit.
A luminous polycarbonate façade defines the project. It diffuses daylight, improves insulation, and gives the building a distinct presence on campus. Inside, high-performance flooring, anti-slip aquatic surfaces, and integrated lighting provide safe and adaptable environments for athletes and spectators. Clear circulation, intuitive wayfinding, and the UNIS blue woven throughout reinforce identity and community spirit.
Healthy indoor conditions were a key priority. Advanced air treatment systems, efficient HVAC, water-saving technologies, and sustainable materials reduce environmental impact while ensuring comfort and safety. These measures establish a new model for sustainable sports architecture in Vietnam.
This recognition celebrates the dedication of an international and interdisciplinary team of architects, engineers, and consultants whose collaboration made the project possible.
The Sports & Aquatic Centre is more than a facility. It is a landmark for the UNIS community, a place where light, movement, and identity converge—and an expression of how architecture can inspire, safeguard well-being, and contribute to the future of education.
