VA-NG WINS DESIGN COMPETITION FOR FPT HANOI CAMPUS EXTENSION

VA-NG – Van Aelst I Nguyen & Partners is proud to announce that our team has been selected as the winner of the design competition for the FPT Hanoi Campus Extension at Hoa Lac High-tech Park in Hanoi, Vietnam, for FPT Corporation, one of Vietnam’s leading technology and digital transformation companies.

The project marks the next phase in the evolution of the FPT campus, building on the approved masterplan and transforming two distinct building entities — the “Diamond” and the “Comb” — into a more unified, connected, and future-ready campus environment.

Rather than replacing the existing architectural identity, the design works through reinterpretation. By aligning geometry, façade rhythm, landscape structure, and spatial organization, the proposal strengthens the relationship between the buildings while preserving their individual character. Transparent and permeable ground floors further open the campus to the surrounding landscape, creating stronger connections between interior functions, outdoor spaces, and daily campus life.

At the heart of the proposal is a central park, conceived not only as a visual centerpiece but as an essential piece of campus infrastructure. It supports movement, improves orientation, moderates the microclimate, and anchors the identity of the extension. Around this landscape core, a series of courtyards inspired by the five elements — Fire, Earth, Water, Metal, and Wood — creates a layered sequence of spaces for interaction, creativity, and well-being.

The FPT Hanoi Campus Extension reflects a broader ambition to create a contemporary technology campus where architecture, landscape, and innovation are integrated into one coherent environment. The result is a human-centered “Campus 2.0”: open, adaptable, and designed to support the evolving culture of a future-oriented workplace.
